War Memories from Times of Peace

A personal essay-documentary film about the feelings that Russia’s cowardly and barbaric invasion of Ukraine raised. It attempts to raise questions about the limitations of our solidarity and debt toward Ukrainians fighting for their existence. The film also tries to draw a portrait of Finland at a new and terrifying phase in history while asking if the Finnish relationship with Putin and Russia was too naive (or if it still somehow is). Most of the footage was shot on 24.2.2022.
